棉大卷叶螟Haritalodes derogata是锦葵科植物的重要害虫, 本研究利用解剖显微镜观察其蛹和成虫雌雄个体的形态特征, 建立了一种快速鉴别棉大卷叶螟蛹和成虫雌雄性别的简易方法, 可为该虫的性别相关科学研究、野外种群监测及预测预报提供更精准的数据。结果表明, 雌、雄虫体的特征差异如下:雌蛹生殖孔与产卵孔连接成一裂缝状, 位于第8腹节, 裂缝两侧平坦无突起, 裂缝上端临近第7~8腹节分节线, 下端分别与第8~9、9~10腹节分节线形成倒“Y”形, 裂缝与第10腹节上肛门的距离较远[(0.75±0.07) mm]; 雄蛹生殖孔位于第9腹节中央, 两侧各有一半圆形瘤状浅突起, 与其他腹部分节线不形成倒“Y”形结构, 且生殖孔与肛门的距离较近[(0.39±0.04) mm]。雌成虫腹部呈圆筒状、较为粗壮, 尾部顶端平截中央略凹, 腹部倒数第1腹节背面有一小块黑色鳞毛丛, 后翅翅缰2根; 雄成虫腹部细长, 尾部呈爪形、锥状, 尾部末端较尖, 且腹部倒数第2腹节背面有一块较大的黑色鳞毛丛, 后翅翅缰仅1根。上述方法可用于快速鉴别棉大卷叶螟蛹和成虫的雌、雄性别, 鉴别准确率为100%。 |

Haritalodes derogata is an important pest of Malvaceae plants. In this study, a simple and effective method for sex identification of H.derogata pupae and adults was developed by observing their morphological differences under a stereomicroscope. This method provides accurate data for sex-related research, field population monitoring and pest forecasting. The results revealed clear differences between sexes. In female pupae, the reproductive and oviposition openings are connected into a slit on the 8th abdominal segment, with flat sides and no protrusions. The slit forms an inverted “Y” shape with the segmental lines between the 8th-9th and 9th-10th abdominal segments and is located farther from the anus [(0.75±0.07) mm]. In male pupae, the reproductive opening is centered on the 9th abdominal segment, flanked by two shallow semicircular protrusions, with no “Y” shaped structure, and is closer to the anus [(0.39±0.04) mm]. Female adults have a cylindrical and robust abdomen with a flat and slightly concave tail tip. A small cluster of black scales is present on the dorsal side of the last abdominal segment, and two frenula are observed on the hindwing. In contrast, male adults possess a slender, claw-shaped, conical abdomen with a pointed tail, a large cluster of black scales on the second-to-last abdominal segment, and a single frenulum on the hindwings. These morphological traits allow for reliable and rapid sex identification of H.derogata pupae and adults with 100% accuracy. |
