小火蚁Wasmannia auropunctata原产于新热带地区, 被世界自然保护联盟(International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN)列为全球最具威胁的入侵物种之一。2022年, 小火蚁在广东汕头地区首次被发现, 成为中国大陆一种新发现的重大外来入侵有害生物。为实现快速、准确鉴定小火蚁, 本研究采用形态学方法对小火蚁标本进行分析, 编译了沃氏蚁属Wasmannia 10种工蚁和10种蚁后的检索表, 并利用DNA条形码技术对形态学鉴定结果进行了验证。本研究为小火蚁的准确鉴定提供了重要的技术参考。 |

The little fire ant Wasmannia auropunctata, originally native to the Neotropical region, has been listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as one of the world’s most threatening invasive alien species. In 2022, W. auropunctata was detected for the first time in Shantou, Guangdong province, marking its emergence as a newly identified major invasive pest species in China’s mainland. To enable rapid and accurate identification of this species, a morphological method was employed to examine W.auropunctata specimens and dichotomous keys were compiled for workers and queen ants of 10 species within the genus Wasmannia. Additionally, DNA barcoding was subsequently used to verify the morphological identification. This study provides a valuable technical reference for the precise quarantine identification of W.auropunctata. |
