| Population monitoring and forecasting of Spodoptera frugiperda is the basic work to guide prevention and control of the pest. In the process of monitoring adult population with sex pheromone, three species of non-target Lepidoptera insects were found, including Leucania loreyi, Cucullia fraterna and S. litura. L. loreyi was the most common insect, followed by C. fraterna, and both accounted for more than 98% of the non-target Lepidoptera insects, while there were fewer of S.litura. The proportion of non-target insects was related to the investigation period. From May to October, 97.01% of the insects were S. frugiperda, and from November to April, the proportion of non-target Lepidoptera insects was more than 50%. The main characteristics of the male moths of four species of insects were described to provide technical support for accurate detection and prediction of the pests based on sex pheromone. |
