| The methods of quarantine and identification of Asterolecanium garciniae were presented by descriptions, illustration, and color pictures of morphology of adult female, including field appearance and its structural characters by microscopic observation. Diagnostic features were put up, as well as the difference from the similar species A. javae, A. russellae and A. sumatrae. Also, the host and distribution of A. garciniae were provided, especially a new distribution, Thailand, was first reported. The color pictures of A. garciniae and its modified illustration were initially shown. The results of the first interception of A. garciniae in its entry into China should contribute to improving quarantine and identification of this pest. |
