Citrus moss is a common and serious disease. In order to determine the pathogens and control the citrus moss disease, the Illumina Miseq high-throughput sequencing technology was used to explore the differences in the eukaryotic composition and community structure on the leaves of citrus between mossy and mossless samples from Zhongxian and Kaizhou, Chongqing. In this study, three sweet orange varieties and three hybrid citrus varieties were selected as the materials. A total of 491 OTUs were detected from 24 citrus leaf samples, and the diversity of samples was abundant. The results showed that the dominant genera were Cladosporium, Heveochlorella, Cyphellophora, and Parastagonospora. Several species had higher relative abundance in symptomatic samples than in asymptomatic ones, including uncultured Apatococcus, Heterochlorella luteoviridis, Heveochlorella hainangensis, Cyphellophora sessilis, Chloroidium ellipsoideum, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, etc. which might be closely related to the occurrence of citrus moss. The composition structure and abundance of dominant eukaryotic communities in 12 symptomatic samples were significantly different. The occurrence of citrus moss disease might be caused by complex infection of many algae and pathogenic fungi. Citrus moss infection had a great influence on the biodiversity of phyllosphere eukaryotes. The dominant eukaryotic communities on citrus leaves of different varieties in different regions were significantly different after citrus moss infection. |
