      By using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy techniques, the morphology and sensilla of antennae and tarsi of female and male adults of Pharsalia antennata were examined. The results of morphological characteristics showed that the length of male bodies was longer than that of females. The length of male antennae was over twice as long as its body while female antennae were a little longer compared to its body. Notably, the fifth abdominal segment of female adults was significantly longer than that of males. Furthermore, 18 sub-types of sensilla were identified, including six sub-types of sensilla basiconica (SB), five sub-types of sensilla trichodea (ST), five sub-types of sensilla chaetica (SCh), one Bǒhm bristles (BB) and one sensilla campaniformia (SCa). Among them, ST-Ⅴ was observed only on male antennae while the distribution of SB-Ⅵ and SCa was limited to female antennae. The distribution and numbers of ST-Ⅰ were different between female and male antennae. In addition, eight sub-types of sensilla were identified from female and male tarsi, consisting of three sub-types of ST, three sub-types of SCh and two sub-types of SB. There were differences in the lengths of sensilla between female and male tarsi.
