The laboratory populations of Lygus pratensis (L.) were studied at five different temperatures (13, 18, 23, 28 and 33 ℃) using life tables. The mirids were reared on Phaseolus vulgaris in the laboratory. The results showed that its development rate increased with increasing temperature and that the relationship between temperature and development rate could be simulated by a Logistic model. The developmental temperature thresholds and effective accumulated temperatures for nymphs and the whole generation were 7.49 and 10.21 ℃, 323.62 and 393.7 day-degrees, respectively. In the experimental temperature range, L. pratensis had the highest survival rate at 23 ℃ during nymphal stage (75%) and the lowest survival rate at 33 ℃ during the nymphal stage (41%). We concluded that the suitable temperature range is 18-28 ℃ for L. pratensis. Lower temperature (13 ℃) or higher temperature (33 ℃) is not suitable for the survival of L. pratensis. |
