Sour rot has become one of the most serious diseases in many vineyards in China recently. It attacks ripening grape berries and has a damaging effect on grape yield and quality. In the years of 2010-2011, a survey of grape sour rot on 24 different grape cultivars was conducted in Beijing vineyards. These grape cultivars, based on their disease indexes, were classified and evaluated by significance and cluster analysis. It was shown that 11 wine cultivars could be divided into three groups: Group 1, including ‘Petit Verdot’,‘Petit Manseng’ and ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’, had the lowest disease index (2.08-4.17); Group 2, including ‘Roussanne’, ‘Aranele’ and ‘Cabernet Franc’, had medium disease index (5.83-9.17); Group 3, including ‘Sauvignon Blanc’, ‘Gamay, Riesling’, ‘Merlot’ and ‘Viognier’, had the highest disease index (16.25-20.00). It was also shown that 13 table grapes could be divided into three groups: Group 1, including ‘Jasimine’, ‘Beniizu’, ‘Kyoho’ and ‘Black Olympia’, had the lowest disease index (1.00-5.00); Group 2, including ‘Centennial Seedless’, ‘Muscat Hamburg’, ‘Ryuho’, ‘Italia’, ‘Jingmi’, ‘Jinxiangyu’ and ‘Wink’, had the medium disease index (7.00-10.67); Group 3, including ‘Rizamat’ and ‘Yatomi Rosa’, had the highest disease index (15.67-18.00). The results provided important direction for the management of grape sour rot. |
