| The red imported fire ant(RIFA),Solenopsis invicta Buren,is among the most widespread and damaging of introduced species.It has a suite of characteristics that facilitate their introduction,establishment and subsequent range expansion.The genetic changes during or subsequent to introduction have led to alterations in its population biology and behavioral genetics;these,in turn,have promoted the invasive success of RIFA. |
