| The occurrence, distribution , classification and control of root - knot nematodes as well as applicotim of molecular biological techniques such as isoenzymic electrophoresis, DNA recombination, and polymerase chain reaction identification of nematode species and physiological races were reviewed. The prospect of biological control of root - knot nematodes, resistance breeding,and transgenic engineering were also discussed. |
